Oh Vh1, I love you!

As a reality tv addict, I can always count on Vh1 to bring the lol's with their celebreality. I'm not ashamed of the fact that I enjoy watching washed-up D-listers spill their guts and exploit themselves on national television. I've been watching Flavor of Rock and Scott Baio is 45 & Single- which are both hilarious and pathetic at the same time.

But the show I'm most excited about is:
Mission: Man Band.
Its almost sad- four boy-banders (two of whom were the losers in their own groups!) come together to try and make a comeback. I predict this will be a train wreck!!

Aside from bad tv, Mike & I had a nice, although short weekend. He had to work super late on Friday and all day Saturday which sucked for him. We grilled steaks last night and watched Big Brother, its beginning to be our Sunday night ritual :)

yummm...pizza

I made a veggie pizza last night that was probably the best pizza I've ever made!! Seriously, Mike loved it :)

I bought a little shaker thing for mixed drinks today for $1!! So excited about that- since P&B's visit, I've been craving appletinis and tomorrow I'm making them!

I'm seriously loving Big Brother this season- its so entertaining!

I've really had the urge to travel lately. We have a little road trip/camping thing in the works, our anniversary trip to Florida and maybe a weekend in Chicago after that. I've been researching all kinds of fun places to go. Since we don't plan on having kids for a while (a long long while!) I figure we should fill the time with lots of adventures!!

Oooh and in more interesting news...I may not be a Republican anymore. Really.

I've been researching other avenues and have really become intrigued by the Libertarian party. I'm not going to jump the gun, but its got me thinking...

I just checked the Cain's website and saw that Damien Rice will be there on September 16th. I CANNOT wait!!!! I've always said that seeing him in concert would be amazing :)

If you don't know who he is (shame on you!) --He sang the main song from the movie Closer.

Most Exciting Blog EVA!!

Yeah, not really...

Umm, what to write about?? I bought new makeup this weekend at Sephora (I freaking love that store). I bought Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer-- love it. Its perfect for the summertime.

I cooked beef enchiladas last night and they were sooo good! I'm having a glass of wine in the middle of the afternoon- its riesling and delish. I think I'm going to be lazy and make pasta tonight. Oooh, I have a Pampered Chef part tomorrow evening. Anyone ever been to one? Any recommendations on what to order?

Thats all I got :)

Little Rock, Here We Come :)

My Mom & I are heading to Little Rock in about 30 minutes. We're going to the American idol concert tonight at the Alltel Arena. Its our yearly tradition :)

It should be interesting namely because I couldn't name the top 12 contestants if I tried. Who the hell are we going to see tonight?? Unfortunately, Sanjaya will be there. boo.

Mike is sooo grateful that he's not being subjected to A.I. hell. He's going on a float trip with a few friends from Tulsa. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Trash the Dress

So the big thing on the nest (it's the married version of the knot if you're not familiar) is "Trash the Dress". You can check it out at: Trash the Dress

Basically you get to wear your wedding dress one last time for a photo shoot.

From their website: "The concept is to take a care-free attitude into your photo shoot and not worry about what happens to the dress. The session is to Symbolically show your husband that you’ll never need the dress again, and have fun doing it! Not everyone really wants to shred their dress beyond recognition, but if they do- great!"

Sometimes in mud, sometimes in water- tons of options. I don't know how I feel about it. Some of the pictures are gorgeous and they look like they'd be fun... What do you guys think? Weird? Interesting?

Here are some of my favorite shoots:

Louisiana Mud Trashing

Malibu Trashing

Kelly Moore's Trashing

Any takers? :)

Fun Times!

This weekend has been pretty close to perfect :)
Mike came home early on Friday. We got to have lunch together and just hang. Saturday morning we got up super early and hit about a dozen yard sales. I got:
  • 10 books
  • brand new trivial pursuit game
  • brand new scene it game- never used!
  • Trump board game- still wrapped in plastic, looks hilarious!
  • cool vintage bread pan
  • a huge (3 ft. tall!!) coloring book--yes I still color :)
  • a really cute St. Patrick's Day wreath to add to my collection-- yes, I have a collection of themed wreaths :)
All of this for $12! Seriously, so cheap.

So now its close to midnight on Sunday. Mike is playing xBox 360 and I'm blogging. He has tomorrow off and I think we're going to go to a matinee of The Transformers-- in Bella Vista its only $4 for a matinee!

Loooong Weekend!!

Since Mike had to work on the 4th of July, he gets off work today at noon and has Monday off! I know he's ready for some much deserved down-time :)
My ankle is doing much better. The swelling has went down and its not hurting as much as it was yesterday. The chigger bites are better too!! I found this cream called "Chiggerex" and its amazing.
We don't have anything exciting planned-- we'll probably go to some yard sales in the morning and maybe go to a movie or two this weekend. Hope everyone has fun!!

My thoughts on yesterday...

Seriously. What a crappy day!! It started out okay- I went out to eat lunch with Mike (which we never do). It all went downhill from there:
  1. I got eaten alive by chiggers when we were outside Tuesday evening. I must be allergic because my body is on FIRE! calamine lotion isn't making a dent in it. boo
  2. I vacuumed 3x yesterday because Ellie is shedding like a freak. I'm almost ready to shave her.
  3. I almost died yesterday, no joke!! Those that know me well, know what a clutz I can be. I was emptying the dishwasher, had 2 super sharp knives in my hands, I totally slipped on a wet spot on the floor, twisted the hell out of my ankle, scraped and bruised my wrist BADLY, twisted my knee and fell! As I was falling, I was thinking, "Don't stab yourself!!".
  4. I called Mike crying and he tried to make me feel better. He was leaving work and said he'd meet me at the Walgreens to look for something for my chigger bites and maybe a wrap for my ankle. I leave the house to go meet him and 5 minutes later get a phone call... he had a flat tire on the highway!!
So, this morning Mike is driving on new tires, I'm laying in bed with my ankle wrapped and elevated on a pillow, with an ice pack on my knee, anti-itch medicine all over myself and hairy carpet that I can't vacuum!

{Woohoo, 6 posts to go!!}

I just realized that this is my 194th blog post, only 6 to go to the 200 post mark!
I am so glad that Mike talked me into starting this blog all the way back in 2005. Its so fun to have a little "diary" to look back on :)

The Baby Sitter's Club!!

I can't even remember where I found this link, but I love it:

The BSC Headquarters

I've always been an avid reader, and when I was a little kid I read every Baby Sitters Club book in the world. The link above is a blog by a 20-something year old librarian who decided to re-read all the BSC books and review them. Its freaking hilarious, seriously!!

Mike put in his request for vacation time this morning. So, it looks like the Florida trip is 100% on! I am so excited and can't think of a better way to spend our one year anniversary :)

weekend guest!

Mike's brother Rob visited this weekend. We hadn't seen him since the wedding! It was so great to have him here. We did a ton in just 2 short days:
  • Saw 2 movies- Live Free or Die Hard & 1408
  • Had a little cook-out
  • the boys played way too much xBox
  • watched a few good boxing matches
  • drank a bit (just a little bit :) )

I also went to an Arbonne "party". It was horrible. Arbonne is like Mary Kay-- basically someone has a party and 90% of the time they're trying to get you to sign up to sell stuff. Its a total pyramid scheme. The company makes almost all of its $$ by having people sign up to sell (you have to pay $29). The girl that hosted was a really nice girl, but check this out:

She was explaining that Arbonne isn't a pyramid scheme...its just a group of "business builders". She makes money on the people she signs up, they make money on the people they sign up etc. She even showed a diagram: (p.s.-- this is my ghetto interpretation of her fancy diagram)

hmmm, does that look like a pyramid to anyone else?? I almost died laughing, but didn't want to be rude :)

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!!
