My house has been taken over by boys- Mike & 5 of his co-workers have been in my living room for almost SIX HOURS playing some board game. So instead of listening to them argue about how many infantry they can purchase each turn (seriously? wtf) I've been updating my Zune with music.
Three albums from years ago that I completely forgot about, and then re-discovered today:
Tidal- Fiona Apple: omg, I love every song. I listened to this cd non-stop my freshman year in college. It brings back such memories!
This Desert Life- Counting Crows: It's hard to believe this album is almost 10 years old. Colorblind is one of my favorite songs ever.
Surfacing- Sarah McLachlan: another one from college. I listened to this cd almost every night as I fell asleep.
I finally downloaded Kings of Leon & Adele- love both of them.
I also made the trek out to Williams Sonoma to buy this. I used it last year on our turkey and WOW- fabulous!! I did most of the Thanksgiving shopping yesterday. I'm hosting again this year and it should be an adventure. :)
So yeah, lots of random stuff today... hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

Oh my goodness! That is the Counting Crows album that I won from a local radio station along with a free trip to San Francisco to see them in concert! My sister and I took the trip and actually skipped out on the concert part! :giggle
I loved that album! I love CC in general, though.
Cannot believe it's nearly 10 years old. Our trip was at the end of 1999, so that would be right. Wow, time flies, huh? That means I've been out of college for 10 years.
Lucky you! I love me some Counting Crows! One of my most favorite songs is 'Anna Begins'
GAW now I'm hungry.
I will need a full report on the brine. Oscar was actually holding that same jar in WS yesterday and put it back since he usually makes his own.
oh i do love your random-ness. love all those albums, too. ;) AND-- we're hosting thanksgiving again this year, too, BUT... last year someone else brought the turkey, so this will be my first year to attempt making it. i'm so nervous. tips?
I am OH so impressed with your musical selections! I love them all!! I had a seriously disturbing love affair for about a year with Adam, the lead singer of the counting crows. I have all their albums.
This post reminded me that I still haven't gotten my Fiona Apple CD back from my friend Beth--and I loaned it to her about 2 years ago! Off to email her...
Good luck hosting Thanksgiving! It'll be fun to do in your new house!!
