I have to take a picture! We just got home from a wedding where Mike was a groomsman and I had to have a pic of the event. I'm afraid that I've caught the cold/nasty bug that's been going around his office (thanks honey) and i'm beat. I think I'll be boring and go to bed at 10 on a Saturday night.

Jack Bauer Photo Shoot

It's been a while since Mr. Bauer has graced the blog with his presence and he was not happy about it. He demanded a photo shoot this afternoon (set against all those annoying leaves that his dad keeps promising to get rid of!), and what Jack Bauer wants, Jack Bauer gets!

Thankful

Just a quick post to mention a few of the things I'm thankful for in 2008:

my amazing husband and partner in crime
a fantastic family
buying our first home
our sweet and loving pets- especially thankful for adopting Jack Bauer!
wonderful supportive friends- both locally and across the country

I've been doing my Thanksgiving prep all morning long. All my casseroles are ready in the fridge so all I have to do is pop them in the oven tomorrow, my turkey is brining (can that be a verb?) in the fridge, the table is set, and the house is spotless. I'm excited to host our first Thanksgiving in our new house! I hope everyone has a fabulous Thanksgiving!

Random-ness

My house has been taken over by boys- Mike & 5 of his co-workers have been in my living room for almost SIX HOURS playing some board game. So instead of listening to them argue about how many infantry they can purchase each turn (seriously? wtf) I've been updating my Zune with music.

Three albums from years ago that I completely forgot about, and then re-discovered today:

Tidal- Fiona Apple: omg, I love every song. I listened to this cd non-stop my freshman year in college. It brings back such memories!

This Desert Life- Counting Crows: It's hard to believe this album is almost 10 years old. Colorblind is one of my favorite songs ever.

Surfacing- Sarah McLachlan: another one from college. I listened to this cd almost every night as I fell asleep.

I finally downloaded Kings of Leon & Adele- love both of them.

I also made the trek out to Williams Sonoma to buy this. I used it last year on our turkey and WOW- fabulous!! I did most of the Thanksgiving shopping yesterday. I'm hosting again this year and it should be an adventure. :)

So yeah, lots of random stuff today... hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

don't look here! I cannot get my head out of the clouds to give any kind of rational, logical review. It wasn't perfect but it was perfect for me. And wow, that kiss!! *swoon*

I've got a hot date!

Friday November 21, 12:01 am--Me, a diet coke, some popcorn and EDWARD!!! (oh and my dear hubby!) That's right, I just purchased my tickets to the midnight showing of Twilight. Yes, I'm that obsessed. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Out of the crate!

I promised something non-wedding related, so here you go! Jack Bauer is coming up on his 7 month birthday- 7 months old!! I can't believe it. About 2 weeks ago Mike & I began to notice a change. Jack was becoming calmer...and better behaved! Before he was constantly wiggling, constantly running through the house- like it was almost painful for him to sit down. lol Gradually Jack began to sit and just chill. It was amazing!

Well last week Mike decided to see if Jack could sleep in our bedroom, out of his crate. I instantly dismissed this as an AWFUL idea. Well believe it or not, Jack hopped up on the bed that night, sprawled out on the end of the bed and slept the whole night through! I couldn't believe it. So our little guy is growing up. And it's awesome.

I'll take some pics of Mr. Bauer tomorrow. He's STILL growing!

What a party!

Since you guys didn't seem to mind the slew of wedding pictures from yesterday, I'm going to post some of my favorites from the reception. Mike and I had a fantastic anniversary yesterday- a nice quiet dinner out at P.F. Chang's, some wine and some book shopping...simple and perfect!

First a few shots of just Mike and I at the chapel after the wedding. Everyone else was at the reception and this was so special- it was just us & the photographer- a few quiet moments together. :)
